What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication (or Rich Site Summary). RSS is a form of  XML, and it is a very flexible language in it self.

What does RSS do?

RSS is a new way for the information supplier to supply information to the user. With RSS the information comes to the user, to avoid that the user should have to surf the net to find the information from different suppliers. RSS feed forms when the information supplier codes for example certain parts on their newssite with RSS code. This site supplies events as RSS-feed.

What is needed for RSS feed?

To benefit from RSS you need an aggregator, these are both available against fee or free of charge.

How to get started?

First download an aggregator. An example of a free aggregator without advertisement is FeedReader from Estonia. If you are using e.g Mozilla Firefox, you don't  need a seprate aggregator. For more information use "RSS" and  "aggregator" as search keys on a good search engine.
